Well put. I often simplify the paradigm as: people over profit v. profit over people. It also amazes me at how angry (rageful) people get over someone having a different opinion. Why is money so much more important to some than quality of life? I think that as one accumulates more, that it becomes an addiction, and corrupts the individual. Too much of anything or too little is poison.
